North Beach Soccer Club

A bit of a mixed bag for the boys from the beach. First team again unable to bother the scorers, reserves scoring two but against the run of play and the Socials once again leaving it to the last 10 minutes to show they know the way to the back of the net.

Unable to comment on the Masters until I hear about the heroics of their bus trip to the deep south of Mandurah. Boys I am still waiting to hear your version of the story, Rumors are that you had problems paying for the bus, ran out of petrol, turned up late but still managed a draw... Sounds intriguing

First team Vs Stirling Panthers

North Beach

Scorer N/A

Once again the first team started well and threatened the goal a few times in the first 10 minutes. Unfortunately like so many of the games this season we were not able to put the ball into the net. The team played well in the first half and held out a continuously attacking Stirling until 3 minutes to go. A good header from the Stirling striker saw them go to the break 1 goal up.

North beach came out in the second half and like the first half had a couple of very good early chances but again did not finish them.

Stirling gradually wore down the Beach defence and scored two more goals to finish 3 nil victors

Reserves Vs Stirling Panthers

North Beach

Scorers Russell Sinclair 2

This was an interesting game with North Beach being forced to defend most of the game. Stirling continuously attacked but were unable to penetrate a very solid North Beach defence. the importance of having a goal scorer was evident when 10 minutes into the game and against the run of play Russell gathered a ball on his chest, turned and vollied the ball into the net.

This gave North Beach the lead in a game. Russell was able to double the lead when he opted to take a penalty shot after being taken down in the box. I believe that this was Russell's first penalty since his miss against Gwelup last year.

After attacking the whole half Stirling finally pulled back one goal just before half time as a result of a rare North Beach defensive error.

Second half was a scoreless affair with North Beach holding out a very determined Stirling.

Special mention to the North beach defence and in particular Adam Jones who had a fantastic game.

Social Vs Stirling Panthers

North Beach

Scorers Johnny Pope 1, Simon Geldhart 1

I only saw the last 10 minutes of this game but was lucky enough to see both of North Beach's goals. Once again the boys had left it to the very end to decide to start scoring.

Another great header from Johnny and a beautiful volley from Simon saw them even the scores at 2 all

Masters Vs Mandurah City

North Beach

Scorer Frank O'Niel

Information just recieved advises that the masters team turned up fit and well for the game against Mandurah. North Beach played well in the first half and went to the break feeling confident.

The second half saw North beach constantly attacking the mandurah goal, hitting the post a number of times and having a number of other close misses. North beach dominated the half but were not able to break the 1 all deadlock.

Special mention to Marco who I am told had a blinder.

Well done Frank on not only scoring your second goal for the year but also for getting through another game uninjured
