North Beach Soccer Club

First team Vs Kingsley

North Beach 1 Kingsley 4

Scorer Darren Young 1

This team also had a few changes from the last week’s game against South Perth. Out were Ray with injury, Thomas and Roxby who played for the reserves and in were Darren and Tex for their first games of the season after coming back from injury.
The game didn’t go to well with Kingsley scoring two first half goals and feeling pretty confident going into half time.
Coming out in the second half North Beach played much better football and pulled the lead back with a nice Darren Young goal.
North Beach kept up the pressure and it was felt that if they could equalise then they would have a very good chance of winning. This wasn’t however the way thing went. Kyle Maclean received a red card for a late tackle and with NB down to 10 men they let in two more goals.
Final score 4 – 1 to Kingsley

Reserves Vs Kingsley

North Beach 3 Kingsley 2

Scorers Russell Sinclair 2, Chris Nield 1

Once again the reserves team fronted up knowing that they would be in for another tough game. The team had a few changes this week with Chris Roxby, Tomas Panak, Alan Dodswell , Chris Nield and Steve joining the starting line up and Costa also returning to goal.
The game started very physically with neither side allowing the other much room to operate however on the 12th minute Steve MacLean broke away down the left and then sent the ball to the centre where Russell found himself not only unmarked but also no keeper to be seen as the keeper had gone out to challenge Steve. Russell was almost confused that it was so easy and poked the ball in for a goal.
19th minute saw Kingsley score from a messy ball in front of the goal and we were back to level pegging.
35th minute and this time it was Thomas that broke down the right side, centred the ball with Chris connecting and sending the ball in for a well earned goal.
The score remained 2 – 1 to North Beach at half time.
Both teams came out fighting in the second half wanting to be the first to score. The game see sawed with both teams having opportunities.
It wasn’t until the 33rd minute when Russell went screaming towards the goal, the opposition was too busy yelling at the Ref for an offside to chase him and all Russell had to do was beat the keeper. He did this in a most unusual manner by stopping then eventually working his way around when the keeper fell over and slotting the goal from the most difficult angle he could manage.
At  3 – 1 most on the side line felt a sense of relief, however Kingsley are too good of a side to lie down and die. This proved true when on the 38th minute they scored again making it 3 – 2. A few North Beach players started to lose their cool and a few yellow cards were handed out for swearing and back chat. It may have been for this reason that the ref kept the game going for 5 minutes overtime.
On the 50th minute he finally blew the whistle and NB was able to celebrate a well earned win.

Social Vs Morley City

North Beach 3 Morley City 1

The social boys went out full of confidence after their great start to the season. They played well and scored a great 3 – 1 win over  Morley City.
