North beach Vs Kingsley

North Beach Soccer Club - Match Report U15 Boys Vs Kingsley

4 May 2008

After watching the U15 girls game against Lynwood I was lucky to get back to the club in time to see the last 20 minutes of the under than 15 boys game against the old foe Kinsley.

When I arrived the score was 1 - nil to Kinsley and although game was going from one end to the other neither team threatened the goal.

Good defence from both teams and some very good work from the keepers kept the score the same until approx 5 minutes from full time. At this time the North Beach striker broke through the defence and scored a beautiful goal. I could hear comments from the crowd that this was probably a fair result.

We were wrong to think that this was the end of the drama as with only 2 minutes on the clock North Beach was awarded a penalty. This was converted into a goal and it now seemed that North Beach would steal an unlikely win.

In the last play of the game Kingsley fired a corner into the goal mouth and was toed in by a kingsley player to bring the game back to even at 3 all.

As mentioned above the crowd felt that this was a fair result and the coach was happy knowing that his team is capable of playing far better soccer but to still come away with one point.

Well done boys the 20 minutes was great soccer to watch and I look forward to seeing some more of your games as the season progresses.
